2019 CONSCIENCE
March 6th, 2019: Rohit Yavagal ‘21 presented his project on exploring methods to decrease the amount of sulfate in the Everglades, which he worked on under science faculty Jay Salon and Scott Erdman, at the 2019 Miami Dade County Public Schools Science Fair, finishing in the top 5%. He was also recognized as a Finalist-Alternate for the 2019 State of Florida Science Fair April 2nd, 2019: Dr. Tiffany Vora, a Sillicon Valley scientist and the Faculty Director and Vice Chair of Medicine and Digital Biology at Singularity University visited RE to speak to students at assembly, their science classes, and an evening presentation at the Lewis Family Auditorium. Focusing on her expertise in biology, genetics, and technology, she promoted exponential thinking as the way to bring about dramatically positive change. April 12th, 2019: RE’s physics team, comprised of Tomas Graglia ‘19 , Daniela Zaidenberg ‘19 , Thomas Murphy ‘19 , Samson Bienstock ‘19 , Alex Abinader ‘19 and Andres Segrera ‘19 , won 1st place at Barry University’s 18th annual Chemistry and Physics Tournament. Graglia also finished 2nd in the individual exam, with Zaidenberg in 3rd, Murphy in 4th, Bienstock in 5th, and Abinader in 9th. The Chemistry team, comprised of Leo Ratzan ‘19 , Alex Freedline ‘20 , Lachlain McGranahan ‘20 , Marlon Ly ‘20 , Felipe Sarmiento ‘20 and Dori Schurr ‘20 , won 3rd place in the Chemistry Laboratory.
