Little Inklings 2026

I remember when we danced, we smiled, When the endless hours of boredom didn’t matter. I remember when we chortled in the soft grass When no one cared if you didn’t see, didn’t understand. I remember when we didn’t need screens, When we only needed laughter. I remember when the low bars only meant higher jumps, When nothing mattered more than pure joy. Once we didn’t care if something smelled like trash, When we didn’t judge if we heard weird things, When we didn’t have to hide our words, our emotions. Once we laughed, now we lie. But those are only memories. Bittersweet memories. Ones we all knew so well, Ones we choose to forget. We don’t smile the way we used to, We can’t stand being without devices, We see things we should never have seen, And we lose what we once held so dear. And they will only ever be bittersweet memories. The ones we once loved, but now forgotten. The bittersweet memories are a light to the darkness But a shadow to our new spotlight.
