We were here for 3 years All week we worked Studied Cried and laughed We broke into 1,000 million pieces Like a beautiful porcelain vase fallen off the cabinet, we have shattered And for the next 4 years We will shatter into 1,000 more pieces of frustration and happiness When you tell your parents that you’re broken They won't understand, and in a couple of years Neither will you No matter how much sweat and tears you give the world The world will keep spinning The water still flows And you will slowly drop the memories in a never-ending rainstorm While you create many more Experiences are rivers flowing into an ocean of time Where time consumes all the water Draining it dry As time consumes your memories You might still recall, but never again will you sense wind when you arrive Or the AC when it’s a little too high You will never remember exactly how you feel now or exactly who you have become We met our friends 3 years ago We went for ice cream or dinner Some are still with us, and some Were the leaves falling with the seasons 1,000 Million Pieces by Luisa Abril ’30 25
