Little Inklings 2025
The pond, the green, the sight is all I could ever ask for. The lily pads peacefully spread across the illuminating pond. The sight of the frog croaking, fish jumping, the flowers swaying in the wind, The scent of the freshwater, each splashing droplet hitting my dress. The fragrance of my hair whispering past in the cold air. The rich aroma that is nowhere else but this tranquil pond, The flowers, the smell so elegant. My silk hair drifts under the soft touch of my skin. The feeling of the cold water brings me a sense of joy, The taste of the soothing air hitting the back of my neck. The fresh water, the taste so bitter like holding a grudge. The softened taste of the piece of flower I stuck to my tongue. The whisper of the lily pads bouncing off the edge of the pond. The sound of footsteps from afar, knowing they will never dare come near. The flowers, each petal softly brushing up against each other. AN ETERNITY BY THE WATER By Olive Rojas ’30 80
