Little Inklings 2025
ARGENTINA By Bella Mustad ’29 Argentina, kinda funny to talk about. Well, not funny but sad. I say sad because it is my freedom. Freedom is so many things. It is a horseback ride but not like an 8-hour plane ride. Freedom is having dinner with my cousins until midnight, talking about everything and anything. Freedom, a hike in the mountains that makes you wanna die but at the same time makes you feel like you are on top of the world. Freedom is many things, so tell me why I only feel free when I am there. Why the joy the meals and conversation bring me can’t be the same everywhere. A simple swim in a fresh water river can give you the reset you didn’t know you needed while making you look up at the mountains covered in snow in front of you, knowing that’s where the river water came from. Well, I guess it is funny because being there makes me laugh. Having fun becomes your declaration, something to rely on. As you look out at the mountains, they feel like they protect you from your real life, the life you escaped from. Freedom is also freezing on a windy day as you seem to never have enough layers. Losing yourself in a forest isn’t such a bad thing there. Looking up at the trees you don’t feel trapped. Rather, you feel like you found a quiet place. Kinda like a person you can talk to and rely on. New years and a bunch of new people, a party full of people you have never met before. That doesn’t matter though because having a good time is up to you. So feel free and have fun because when you find your Argentina you will have found your freedom. 78
