Little Inklings 2025

It started off with your princess diary and sparkly pen. You would sit on your princess bed and open the pages with bustling thoughts in your head. Some good, some were bad, but it didn’t matter once the words were on that paper. The sound of flipping pages always reminded you it was time to let go of your thoughts. Once the pages were filled, it was time to let go of the place that kept them. You go to the store and pick out your new journal. You walk past the princess diaries and pick a marbled one. You sit on your pink bed day after day, trying to write about the tornado of thoughts in your head. You need for the thoughts to stop spinning, but it’s hard to put them down on paper. After filling about half of the pages, you decided it’s time to find a new place to let go. You go to the store once again and pick out a new notebook. This time it’s a solid purple. You sit on your white bed with the notebook binded between your phone and homework. You would look at the journal with your eyes, but you would pretend not to see it. After plenty of fallen tears and empty pages, you decide it’s time to return to the store. Walking through the shelves with the purple book in your hand, you finally come across what you were looking for; a princess diary and a sparkly pen. THE FILLED PAGE By Stella Stenstrom ’29 42
