Little Inklings 2024

The early sun shines Showing promising signs New leaves bud on trees Others fall past my knees They dance a ballet In sync they sway The soil, moist with rain A smell so comforting yet so plain The flowers coated in morning dew And so the day began anew My mind calmly cleared like the colored clouds Happy to be away from the crowds A cool breeze flowed through the street And so my heart, it felt complete So the chirp chirp of the birds Created an environment without words Tires of the bike rolled on the sticks Crunch, crunch, no more conflicts Doves twirled and I stopped to stare In awe of the acrobats of the air Butterflies fluttered like my thoughts no longer blue And so the day began anew AND SO THE DAY BEGAN ANEW By: Gabi Horvilleur ’29 90
