Little Inklings 2023
WILDFIRES By: Eve Kingdon ’29 Blue, clear skies, Pure, open air. A perfect world filled with sunshine. Until… The world turns black. Gray smoke pours into houses, Just like a flood gushing into damp soil. It is like a monster that can devour your family, Your friends, and love. It won’t stop until it conquers everything in sight. Everything you care about. Terrible, harsh, hazardous things. They don’t care about their actions. Smoke flying everywhere. Strong, mixed feelings. Habitats are destroyed, Lives are shortened. Where there was once a paradise, Now sits a hole of nothingness. It is a villain who steals the soul, And captures the love, Never letting it out of sight. All because of these terrible, Demented wildfires. VIOLET CASSEL ’29 19
