BLIND DATE There once was a hero named Braillete. She was the most beautiful goddess ever. Her hair was as curly as clouds on the highest mountain, her eyes shimmered like dew on grass at the earliest hours of the day. She could hear from miles around from every city to every town. Her hearing was an advantage in battle and because of this she could hear others' strategies for their side and ambush them. But, there was one big disadvantage to her as well. She was blind, the way she was blinded is a sad tale to tell. One day she was with her lover named Loki, a deceitful villain, but she didn’t know he was at the time. They were on the balcony laughing a good laugh and he offered her a glass of water and she accepted it. While she was drinking it she fainted and when she woke up she couldn’t see and Loki wasn’t to be found anywhere. From then on she swore to herself to never fall in love and to give her life to battle. One day, Braillete was on a walk by herself. She stumbled upon the Parthenon. “Hissss Hisssss” she heard. “Who goes there!” she said. “Hissss hissssss” she heard again. She took out her dagger and started swinging it in the air wildly screaming that she’d kill whatever animal or person who wouldn’t say who they were to her. Suddenly, she heard a voice say “I’m Medusa.” Braillete started to blush. “I didn’t think that there’d be an actual person here, I thought it was some sort of snake here” she chuckled. Medusa was quiet there was too much in her mind. She was thinking “How is this woman staring at me?” “Why isn’t she turning to stone?” “Is my curse down and if so why are my snakes still there?” “Why isn’t she scared of me of a monster like me?” “Why are her eyes white?” Finally, Braillete broke the silence. “Do you know what the hissing is?” Medusa replied with a quiet “No.” Braillete said “ Oh, well I guess I’ll keep walking”. Medusa who hadn’t spoken to somebody in ages wanted to keep to the conversation rolling and without thinking blurted outed “Why are your eyes all weird and white like that?” Braillete replied with a cold “I’m blind.” Medusa said “I’m sorry I wasn’t thinking properly, I’ll make it up you by making us dinner.” Braillete was hesitant to agree, she didn’t want to develop a love interest for this girl she just met and she wasn’t really known for forgiving quickly, but relectanically she agreed.
