THE BOOK OF SHI In the beginning, there was _______ (there are no words to describe the emptiness and nothingness in the world at that time). Then, a spark ignited, a spark that created a single-cell organism, the first cell in the world, an intelligent being with no form known as Shi, whose soul roamed in darkness for eternity, until one day, she got bored and decided to create. So, she created a humanoid vessel for herself and, in a historic event known as the the Great Spiritual Stroll, she walked, and for each step she took, the world started to form behind her, until she finally walked around the whole Earth, and her creation was completed. The final thing she created was life, and with that, she created other gods to protect and preserve Earth. Then, she disappeared, never to be seen again. Ever since, the gods have fought each other for Shi’s unimaginable power, but we never realize they are there. The war has gone in the shape of global warming, natural disasters, political unrest, human sin, inequality, and so much more. Jimmy was your average 21-year-old Babylonian; he worked at McSumerion, a popular fast food restaurant in Babylon, studied philosophy, and he was the only person in the world that believed in Anana (this religion), or so he thought. One day, he was walking back home through an abandoned alley when he found two men doing some weird, suspicious trades, and he demanded to know what they were doing. They ran away, but they left something on the floor; a strange stone known as Haider, and before he could say anything, the rock burst open, and out came Haider the God. He tried to kill Jimmy, but out of nowhere, Jimmy heard a voice that told him to say a weird spell. He said it, and a sword appeared in his hand and he stabbed Haider. STEFANO KRUGER ❜ 28 14
