Wandering in the cosmetics aisle, Drawn to a small glass bottle, Holding in it a bright shade of pink It was the first time I had noticed, How crystal blue your eyes were, And your smile that could mend the deepest of wounds, As I placed the tiny glass bottle in the palm of your hand, Creased by the ruthless nature of time And suddenly, what was once your signature color, that mesmerizing firebrick red, Slowly shed its skin, To become the flushed bubblegum tint I would grow To know and love.
