Inklings 2025

EDITORS NOTE Miami is the only place where a thunderstorm, a traffic jam, and a perfect sunset can all happen in the same ten minutes. It’s a city built on movement and memory, where no two experiences are the same and no single version of “home” fits all. Miami is not defined by one feeling, one truth, or one stereotype. This year’s issue of Inklings invites students to explore the city they move through every day—sometimes with love; sometimes with distance. The work that emerged is as textured as the place itself. You’ll find pieces that hold joy in one hand and uncertainty in the other—works that wrestle with identity, family, legacy, and change. Together, these voices reflect a paradoxical city: contradiction and clarity, heat and stillness. A place where memory and geography are tangled—always personal, never the same twice. To everyone who submitted: thank you for your honesty, your talent, and your trust. This magazine exists because of you. A special thanks to our Writing Committee Chair, Lael Sanders ’26, for helping shape the voices that fill these pages. This issue would not be possible without the continued support of our club sponsors, Ms. Morgan and Mr. Stock, who champion this publication with heart. And to Ms. Arredondo— thank you for all of your design help. To the design team—Patrick Keedy Brown ’26, Sophia Biss ’26, Noa Garcia ’27, Lillian Liu ’27, Veronica Puig ’28, and Dylan Beyda ’28—thank you for bringing this issue to life. Welcome to Inklings 2025. Welcome to Miami. Nina Galinsky ’26
