Nature’s Cycle Neva Illica ’28 I . the twinkling gold tinted sun swirls into charcoal shadows wrapping the neat pillows hanging from the sky as sheer pearls drop onto the rich sandy soil pattering on crinkly pink bows who have bowed their heads in silence the evergreens that once dotted the horizon like jade rhinestones now humbled by a misty fog tapered over the landscape A silken veil flowing in heavy sighs II . the dense silhouette eventually disperses fluffy moss emerges from the ivory frosting that once coated sidewalk cracks pastel bulbs are scattered within fields paint strokes of intense vibrance bluebirds sing in breezy whispers III . crisp salty air brushes against my flustered cheeks coarse grains of beige stone sift through my toes crackled white foam laminates the cerulean abyss like iridescent veiny thunder ruby-red watermelon shining at its core sugary nectar drips down my chin 11
