A lump of melting honeycomb, drooping off a tree. A person so negligent, like a calm, curled up dog sleeping at home. People mining and mining, mining for things that can no longer be produced, The mining for terrible products that can hurt our livelihood, and our world. Erosion, contamination, and deforestation, saddening to see. People destroying the one place where we could be a family. In this world, we are one big family, but we are killing our world day by day, with branches falling off the tree. We are making no effort, and it is discouraging to see. We have never seen anything like it, our home being put in a place where we can not bring it back, the world crumbling, never to be stepped upon again, all this green, to help the world produce. The Earth, so lovely and kind, full of produce. So many organisms come together to make families; so much effort and work, to bring the world back ENVIRONMENTAL SESTINA Constantino Pena ’26 LANDSCAPE Alexia Barna ’25 10
