Ocean full of life like myself Calm blue ocean outlooking anything else With a surface as smooth as an icy slope Underneath, a deadly turmoil current Sometimes happening With such force as Hurricanes have on houses And seawalls have on the tides Ocean blue strikes as a Southern Carolina blue Paired with forestry green Yet with all its might Ocean reaches out every time Smiling and embracing everyone Creating a vivid white-sandy shoreline With waves the rise over a trimester But then shrink back to calmness Back and back again The shiny surface slope reflects all that can shine upon it Like a dazzling business shoe recently shined Burned by the tropical monsoon climate With scars of stingrays that burned As high fiving the hot stove Under the lustrous surface, murky water lays Constant rapidly temperature changing as if it were an emotional rollercoaster Unseen, unnoticed Beneath The Surface Martin Jaramillo 22
