12 The Story Of Technu Technu was the god of technology and engineering. He was born in Western Africa to his father Ekus, and his mother, Lasu. He also had a brother named Eshu, and Eshu was a god. Both of Technu?s parents wanted him to think of the future and what can come later on in life. When Lasu talked to his son about the future, he became very interested in the possibilities. When Technu turned 18, he started going after his dream of inventing new things for younger generations. He moved to Mesopotamia to pursue his dream. Technu knew he couldn?t do this alone. Technu asked his brother Eshu to send a letter to Enki which stated that he needed Enki?s help to create something called technology. Enki is the god of laws and building things. Eshu delivered a letter back from Enki saying that he would help and he would be at his hut the next day. The next day Enki showed up at Technu?s hut, and they got to work. Technu came up with an idea called the ?Telephone?. The telephone has the ability to call people, so you don?t need to see them in person. Enki loved the idea, and they started constructing it. Eshu secretly went to Inanna to tell her Technu?s plan. Inanna was the goddess of love but also the goddess of war. Inanna told Eshu to send a letter to his brother saying that if he wanted to keep the telephone as his own idea, he had to fight for it. Technu was mad and confused. He thought to himself, ?This is my idea and I have the right to own it, but how did she know we were making this??Enki also wondered about this in disbelief. Technu?s strength was engineering things, but his weakness was fighting. He was very small, and a war was not his cup of tea. But, they gave a letter to Eshu saying that they accept.
